SaxbyFlix is a community cinema project set up and run by a small but committed group of volunteers who aim to provide the Low Wold Villages with a real cinema experience, which is accessible to all.

Based at Saxby All Saints Village Hall, it is hoped that SaxbyFLIX will attract a wide ranging audience from across the low villages and beyond. Saxby Village Hall Committee member Victoria Rogers who leads the cinema management team, hopes to provide a unique theatre experience.

A blend of state of the art digital audio-visual equipment and distinctive hat tips to the service and presentation style of yesteryear.

SaxbyFLIX plans to screen movies at least once a month initially, but there are hopes that screenings will become more frequent as audience demand grows. Indeed, plans are already afoot to show movies specifically for families, teens and true film buffs.

Whether it's Ealing classics, Hitchcock thrillers or the latest blockbusters, SaxbyFLIX is determined to offer movie lovers a high quality, local, affordable and most importantly - thoroughly enjoyable night out.

Victoria Rogers

"We understand that it’s not enough to have a huge screen and digital surround sound, although, thanks to a grant from WREN, we do have some very high quality equipment.

We intend to put some soul back into the cinema experience, to recapture the romance. We want you enjoy an intermission with a variety of drinks and nibbles, served by our ushers and usherettes.

We are keen to encourage a more relaxed and sociable atmosphere where you can chat over a drink before and after each film. And last but not least we want to show really great films at affordable prices and give you the best possible cinematic experience."
